I’m not really a gadget person. But there are a couple of things I always have on hand when I’m tasting wine, and I get asked about them often enough that I figured I’d put them here.
Anyway, here they are. Two small, useful things. No bulk discounts or fine print, just what they cost and how to get one.
Wine Glass Writer

This one is exactly what it sounds like. A marker that writes straight onto the glass, so nobody has to guess which one is theirs halfway through the evening. It washes off in the dishwasher afterward, no scrubbing. I use it every time I have people over, mostly because I’m terrible at remembering whose glass is whose (and I’m clearly not the only one).

Blind Tasting Sleeve

A simple sleeve that slips over the bottle and hides the label completely, just a big question mark looking back at you. Perfect for blind tastings, or honestly, just to mess with your friends a little (something I love to do). In my opinion, tasting wine without knowing what’s in the glass is the most honest way to actually taste it.
