Top 5 Hotels in Barolo

Not in any particular order, these are some of the best hotels in the barolo area. And remember, since I usually stay at Corte Gondina or in an aribnb, my hotel “knowledge” is somehow limited. But if you are looking for a hotel, these 5 are good ones.

  • Corte Condina
  • Rocche Costemagna
  • Palais Cerequio
  • Relais le Rocche
  • Le Torri

Corte Gondina

No doubt this is my favorite (we all know I love this hotel and the family that runs it). If you want more info, check out my previous post.

Between €100 – $200 per room

Rocche Costamagna

This is a very good option right in the center of La Morra. It’s always nice to stay in the center where everything is walking distance.

Between €140 – $280 per room

Palais Cerequio

This is probably the most luxurious hotel in Langhe, and I’ve only ever had dinner there but WOW. You’ll find this gem a little outside of La Morra – gorgeous rooms with a breathtaking view.

Between €190 – $700 per room

Relais le Rocche

I have never stayed here myself, but from what I hear (and have seen) this is a beautiful hotel.

Between €250 – €310 per room

Le Torri

Le Torri is located in Castiglione Falletto, right next to Vietti, and has a beautiful view of Langhe. And there is of course the amazing restaurant Le Torri attached, so that’s a reason to stay there (in case you had trouble finding one)

Between €80 – €150 per room

Corte Gondina – The Place to Stay

Corte Gondina – A Home Away From Home

Corte Gondina – A beautiful boutique hotel in La Morra.

Corte Gondina Living Room

If you ever find yourself in Piemonte, I highly recommend Corte Gondina in La Morra. This should come as no surprise for those who know me, as I frequent the beautiful hotel in the main streets of La Morra. Although there are many wonderful places to stay in La Morra, this has to be my favorite.

Corte Gondina

Bruno and his wife Elena will welcome you with open arms and treat you like family from day 1. Jackie, the gorgeous german/italian wonder maks a killer cappcino for breakfast in the morning and make sure the garden looks spick and span. All of these things make for a nice hotel experience. And don’t get me started on the breakfast pastries!

In the winter you can sit in the living room and sip a glass of wine in the comfy armchairs and in the summer you can enjoy a chilled glass of white wine under the olive tree. If I ever get married and have a wedding, this is where it will be! You better get ready Bruno!

Pylsa & Barolo 2017

Every year for his birthday, my dad throws a BBQ by the name of “Pylsa & Barolo”. This way he can celebrate his birthday with his friends without making it an official birthday. This year was special because he turned 50! He decided to fly down his closest friends and family to celebrate in Barolo! We invaded La Morra and occupied all of Corte Gondina. Many events were scheduled, but the main event that started the whole thing is Pylsa & Barolo. Below are some photos of the event. You’ll find the wine lineup at the end!

Wine of the Week

This past week was a little special, because my dad (Signor Tony) turned 50! The wine consumption was slightly higher than usual, as you can see in the foto below, and the wines were incredible. This picture is from the “infamous” Pylsa & Barolo, which was located in Barolo this year. And another special feature this year was the bottles: all magnum!
