Located in the backyard of Cordero di Montezemolo, you find this beautiful cedar tree. It was planted as a wedding gift in 1856 by the family, the heirs of Cordero di Montezemolo.
The tradition these days is to hug the tree, and of course we did exactly that. Maybe you want to try the next time you are in the area?
My last trip to New York was all I could hope for. Good food, great wine and fantastic people. It was good to be back. I enjoyed visiting the same restaurants as when I lived in the states and seeing old friends again. Looking forward to go back again soon.

Last summer I was in La Morra with my family and we went to visit Giulia Negri, aslo known as Barologirl. Giulia is a friend of mine but I had never before been to her winery. We sat in the garden, drank wine and ate salumi, while playing with the dogs and learning about their wines.
Giulia is young and she has a passion for Pinot Noir and Burgundy. She makes her own Pinot Noir wine and it’s quite good! Their winery makes two separate wines, Giulia Negri and Serradenari. Giulia’s mother also makes wine at the winery.

This summer, I went to visit my brother in Zurich. But, instead of staying in Zurich, we rented a car and drove to Italy.
