This year Mangialonga will be August 27th. Maybe I’ll see you there!
This past week was a little special, because my dad (Signor Tony) turned 50! The wine consumption was slightly higher than usual, as you can see in the foto below, and the wines were incredible. This picture is from the “infamous” Pylsa & Barolo, which was located in Barolo this year. And another special feature this year was the bottles: all magnum!

Throwback to last years Pylsa&Barolo. Looking forward to Pylsa&Barolo tomorrow, La Morra edition! Pictures to come!

Enjoying the weather by Rocche dell’Annunziata

Although a fairly small winery, it’s definitely worth a visit. Trediberri is basically just 3 people from Berri (kind of): Nicola Oberto, Federico Oberto and Vladimiro Rambaldi. The winery is fairly hidden in the valley below La Morra, below the Rocche dell’Annunziata vineyard. We were lucky to visit with Nicola, and he showed us both the winery and the vineyard. What I love about Nicola is that he so passionate and he loves to talk about his work. He went into quite some detail about the vines, the grapes and the cellar work. I even got to taste some sulfite!

One of his passions is to educate the younger generation about wines, and I definitely learned a few things during my visit. We unfortunately did not get to taste wines as we ran out of time, but I will for sure try them at a later date. It was a real pleasure to meet with Nicola, and I hope you will have the same pleasure sometime.

If you want more information about the winery, check out their website.
Looking for a place to stay in La Morra? I have stayed at Blueberry a few times, and it’s a perfect place for me. Since I spend most of my time out and about, Blueberry provides just what I need: a comfortable bed, clean and cozy environment and good service.

The staff is very welcoming, and very flexible, especially when it comes to check in and check out. And the location is perfect! Smack in the middle of the center, close to all the main restaurants, the supermarket, the bank and tourist office. La Morra isn’t a very big town, but it’s still nice to be very close to everything.
I believe you can book a few places, including Airbnb, but you can also contact them through their website: http://www.blueberrylamorra.it/

In many of the towns in Barolo you will find a Cantina Communale. Here you van buy wines from the producers from that specific time. At the Cantina Communale in Castiglione you will find wines from the producers in Castiglione, same goes for La Morra. What is nice about the Cantina Communale is that there is barely a markup and the selection is great.

At the Cantina Communale in La Morra you will find the wonderful Emanuela. I love opening the door to the store and seeing her face. Her smile is priceless.
The staff at the Cantina Communale is very knowledgable and can help you find what you are looking for. This is also a place you can get information about the area, for example if you are looking for a restaurant or a walking path. So stop by if you can, and if you see Emanuela, give her a big hug from me!
